The aim of this master degree course is to provide the students with a theorical and practical spectrum of the modern techniques for the characterization and study of geological materials.

Physical properties of minerals, mineral separation, principles of spectroscopy, X-rays: emission and absorption, X-ray diffraction, vibrational (Raman, FTIR) spectroscopies, electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF), WDS microanalysis (EMPA), case studies, practicals, seminars.
